Kindle – Read Books, eBooks, Magazines, Newspapers & Textbooks App Reviews

As a reader the Kindle app is okay, but the frustration is the inability to purchase a book within the app. The reader can only download a sample of a book, which is not helpful at all. I would appreciate the ability to purchase a book spontaneously and enjoy it cover to cover without having to find a computer to make my purchases.

Read everywhere with kindle.

Never crashes, syncs all my devices whenever and wherever or whichever device I use, I phone kindle or tablet.

It wont load or open. Sometimes it just disappears. Ive tried deleting and re-downloading.

I love this app, except for the new update. I updated this and it is GLITCHY. I cant open up any of my books and they are having trouble downloading and such. I will change this review once this is fixed.

When I do large page leaps on my iPad Pro, the screen will go white/blank, which can be frustrating if you are searching for something. Otherwise, its a good ebook app.

Use it all the time

I have never had an iPad or a kindle, so discovering the kindle app was awesome! I recently bought my son a kindle fire kids edition which has a nice big screen that also has my own kindle content and account as well as my kids stuff-- but his app for iPhone is super handy!! Obviously I take my phone everywhere I go, and anytime I see a book I want to read I can download a sample and read it later which is very convenient for me. I would consider buying a kindle or iPad someday for the size and possibly other features, but this works great for me so far!

Please work out whatever issues that are going between iBooks and Kindle and allow us to purchase from the Kindle App for those of us that read on an iPhone or iPad. The consumer shouldnt be forced to go to another app to purchase. Originally when this app was first introduced, we could by direct. Im assuming Apple changed the rules in an effort to force consumers to by from iBook....??? It didnt work... iBook doesnt have the selection that amazon has for the types of books I read, and iBook cannot compete with amazon on price. So please resolve and update the APP.

I wanted to start reading again instead of only listening to Audible. After downloading the app my phones battery started dying quickly. I went from keeping a full charge all day to the phone going from full to dead within an hour. Im not sure whats going on here but I would really like to be able to use the app.

Doesnt let me read books that i purchased. It say that i must post rates and reviews. Why should i rate something before reading it?? I paid for books so let me decide when to rate them!!

One BIG missing feature is that the app doesnt allow me upload local books to the cloud and I still must send them to my @kindle.com email (to sync them to my kindle device). --- Im using only my iPhone and most of the time I have to convert epub to mobi using online service (and after that send the coverted file to my @kindle.com email to put them on my kindle device). SINCE I installed this app, my iOS started automatically append ".az1" extension to all .mobi file and Amazon returns all emails with attached books as invalid format. Even if I save the file in iCloud Drive, Kindle app somehow prevents removing of that ".az1" extension. Ive made factory reset of my iPhone and it was ok until I installed Kindle app again. 2 stars until they fix this annoying feature.

Dont even know where to start... The app keeps pausing any time a fragment is highlighted, hangs indefinitely when changing pages, forgets the last checkpoint and forces the old one over and etc. I am puzzled how it was possible to release such a raw, untested version.

Have totally enjoyed reading my Kindle eBooks on my iPhone anywhere I go. No complaints.

I love the kindle, I love that I can read on my iPhone during lunch then go home pick up my kindle and it opens up where I finished ready on my phone. If ask if I want to go to that page or stay in current page. No matter what device Im on I can read my books anywhere.

I read with the kindle app the majority of the time and love the flexibility to read on different devices.

But doing ratings on the Apple store is a pain and not intuitive.

Its been working perfectly.
